Faulty of Law and Social Sciences, located at the northern part of the University of Tabriz campus, initiated in 2012, by division of former Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences into three Faculties including; Faculty of Planning and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management, and Faculty of Law and Social Sciences. Establishment of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences itself goes back to 1947, which started its work with admission of 84 BA students in two fields: History-Geography and Persian Language and Literature.
Since 2012, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences is host for 4 departments, including: Department of Social Sciences, Department of Law, Department of History, and Department of Political Sciences. The Department has got around 1213 admitted students in 2022.
The Faculty plays an important role in upbringing of enroled students from Iran and abroad in Sociology, History, Law, and Political Sciecens at BA, MA, and PhD levels.
