Established in 1993, the Department of Law follows objectives of improving general legal awareness in the society and providing needed specialists for governmental and nongovernmental organizations. The Department of Law offers programs at one BA, three MA (including: Private Law, Public Law, and Criminal Law and Criminology), and one PhD (in Public Law).

The objective of the Department of Law is to provide its students with modern high standard education. A proper balance between theoretical courses and applied work is well established to provide the graduates with the knowledge to pursue a professional career or prepare them for graduate study and continuing education. The undergraduate curriculum is adapted to the particular needs and problems of law, and at the same time keeps up with the latest developments in the field.

At the moment, the Department has got 11 faculty members specialized in various fields of Law, including: constitutional law, administration law, comparative law, civil law, tort law, commercial law, criminal law, criminology, civil procedure, rental procedure, and international law.

The academic strength of the Department and the flexibility of the degree make the programs attractive for students, who want to develop their research and training skills and to gain a valuable postgraduate qualification in any area of legal studies.
